The challenge in the project
JAMMET, a family business with 460 staff specialising in refrigerated transport for more than sixty years across Europe, entrusted the teams at CECIA with the construction of a food logistics hub. This operation developed alongside the firm’s historic headquarters in Fleuré (Vienne), with the SEM, Patrimoniale de la Vienne, will allow the company to grow its business involving the transport of meat products.
CECIA worked alongside its client from the start of the project, offering its expertise in food matters. Its in-house design team came up with a made-to-measure project to satisfy the client’s requirements, including the reception, storage and preparation of meat orders, while working on all the different flows (materials and staff) linked to this business. The CECIA building teams monitored the construction of this project for ten months. This 2176 m² project is based around various zones with in particular a cold room for the storage of hung meat with tracks in the air, monorail and twin-tracks allowing meat to be loaded and unloaded via the six loading bays. A second negative temperature cold storage area for preparing orders, an area for storing packaging, an administrative area (offices, staff rooms, …) and areas for HGVs were also included in this project.
