The challenge in the project
MOULIN DU COUVENT, which specialises in high quality smoked fish, all of which is handmade for major names in the catering sector. When they were looking for new premises more suited to their business, they approached CECIA to work with them. The new building had to fit in with the hygiene standards in the sector and at the same time suit its development needs.
The teams at CECIA worked with MOULIN DU COUVENT when they thought about what they required for their new premises. After a few studies on the reorganisation and restructuring of the existing sites, they finally decided to build a new project. The in-house design team at CECIA carried out all the studies taking into account the client’s needs, involving in particular the handmade aspect, the management of movements and the choice of materials and coverings. A few measures were also put in place to save energy, such as the installation of heat pumps to recover thermal energy from the factory and the installation of solar panels to produce hot water for the premises. It took nine months to erect the 2280 m² operation.
